The “What About Inner Dialogue? ‘The Cops in the Head’” tool is a 60-minute interactive session for up to 20 participants that uses anonymous polling of 11 “inner cop” statements, three-layer intersectional mapping, and guided reflection to reveal how internalized voices of control mirror external power imbalances in dialogue. Participants identify which statements resonate, map their roots across personal characteristics, systems of oppression, and institutions, and co-design facilitation strategies that prevent self-policing, center marginalized voices, and foster inclusive, empathetic dialogue in digital global citizenship education.

This exercise was designed by Povod’s team of intercultural trainers led by Samar Zughool.
