The “Transformative Safeguarding in Digital Global Citizenship Education (D-GCE) Programs” tool is a 60-minute interactive session designed for up to 20 educators or activists. It introduces a three-layer safeguarding model that emphasizes self-agency, six core pillars (Prevention, Protection, Partnership, Accountability, Proportionality, Empowerment), and four enablers (Risk Assessment, Critical Consciousness, Power Awareness, Healing Justice). Through collaborative case studies and guided reflection, participants co-create strategies to anticipate, respond to, and transform challenging situations in digital learning environments. This approach fosters critical thinking, learner empowerment, and collective resilience, making it a vital resource for cultivating inclusive and impactful digital global citizenship education.

This exercise was designed by Povod’s team of intercultural trainers led by Samar Zughool.
