From 3rd to 7th July we were in Izmir, Türkiye as a part of the project “Inclusion in Actions”.

Our first stop was a first meeting in person with our PIYA (PI Youth Association) partner.

We have been working remotely together in developing this proposal after we first met through “THE:PLACE programme”, which is jointly managed by ALDA – European Association for Local Democracy and MAD – Mekanda Adalet Derneği and is funded by Stiftung Mercator

“THE:PLACE programme” is a program that unites local authorities with civil society organizations in Türkiye and European Union, aiming for more inclusive and sustainable cities.

ALDA is running and organizing THE:PLACE programme already as its third edition and we are happy that we are taking part in this third and final edition for now.

Our second stop in Izmir, Türkiye was the Konak Municipality, where we met the director of the research and development department and exchanged good practices and advices with each other.

We also discussed the situations of working with youth, migrants and integration, both in Türkiye and Slovenia.
