Interculturalism is also an act of solidarity beyond borders and nationalities.
Etaf Abdelrahman, a former social worker from Gaza, now living in Slovenia, took us on a journey of feminist resistance against patriarchy and colonization in Palestine, walking the path of activists fighting for intersectional liberation.
She recited “To My Mother” by Mahmoud Darwish, a powerful poem on exile, longing, and homeland, and showcased a beautifully embroidered dress and shawl, sharing their heritage and meaning.
Through storytelling, poetry, and tradition, Etaf reminded us that art is a tool of resistance and identity.
This event is a part of Inclusion in Actions program, which is a part of THE:PLACE program. It is jointly managed by ALDA – European Association for Local Democracy and Mekanda Adalet Derneği.
