Yesterday, on 16th of May 2025, we gathered in Zavrč, Haloze, together with 23 educators and representatives of non-governmental organizations from the Podravska region. The meeting took place at the tourist farm Veselič, which is known as a local example of good practice in coexistence with the environment and efficient use of local resources. At the three-hour moderated workshop, we discussed together and in smaller groups how to better encourage the local population, municipalities and organizations to put more emphasis on the development of sustainable tourism in Haloze. Self-sufficiency is also an important aspect, as there is a lot of uncultivated land and abandoned farms in Haloze that could be restored and with organic food production, and all of this can be further enriched for tourism purposes.

We realized that there is a lot of interest among people, organizations and local communities for development in this direction, but we need more support for mentoring and assistance in obtaining funds.

It is certainly everyone's intention and desire to meet at similar events in the future.
